Fostering Talent and Joy

As the club manager of the Global Fast Fit club, Riverside Chapter, I have had the privilege of leading a dynamic and inspiring group of 33 children, 13 of whom are sponsored by Global Fast Fit. One of my main responsibilities is to track their health and academic progress, ensuring that each member is steadily moving toward a brighter future. Beyond academics, Fridays are special for us—this is when we meet for our GFF routine(GFF Standard or GFF Smart).
Our Friday gatherings are more than just meetings; they are opportunities to connect, grow, and share joy. Whether we’re engaging in structured activities or simply sharing meals together, these moments bring a unique happiness. There’s something truly heartwarming about seeing the children's faces light up, knowing they feel safe, supported, and loved in our club. Their energy and talents shine through, and it fills me with pride to be part of their journey.
Recently, our club had a GFF party, and it was a moment I’ll cherish for a long time. Alex, one of our talented members, surprised me with a beautiful piece of GFF-themed artwork he created himself. Moments like these highlight the incredible gifts these children possess. Another standout moment came when Briton shared his ambitious promise—to compose a GFF anthem for the club. I can’t wait to see (and hear!) the magic he’ll create.
My greatest hope is that these children not only excel in their academics but also develop into individuals who will extend the kindness and generosity they’ve received to others in need. Global Fast Fit has been instrumental in opening doors for these kids, and it is my dream to see them thrive now and in the future, empowered to pay it forward to the next generation.
Being part of this journey with them is a privilege, and I am excited about what lies ahead. Together, we are building a healthy community where dreams are nurtured, talents are celebrated, and smiles are abundant.

Fitness with confidence.

Global Fast Fit blog is slowly becoming my favorite section. Here's a short story about how Global Fast Fit has helped build my confidence.
Before joining Global Fast Fit, I struggled with speaking in front of others. Even a small group could make me freeze up, and the idea of interviewing or addressing a few individuals was downright terrifying. My lack of confidence was holding me back, both personally and professionally.
Everything changed when I joined Global Fast Fit thanks to Dr. James(in charge of the Kenyan team) and John Groom, the founder. The demanding activities pushed me to my limits and beyond. Each workout was a challenge, but with every session, I felt myself growing stronger—not just physically, but mentally as well. The supportive community and encouraging trainers created an environment where I felt safe to push myself.
As my body transformed, my confidence grew. I started noticing changes not only in my appearance but also in my mindset. The discipline and resilience I developed in the gym(owned by Simon Ndung'u) began to spill over into other areas of my life.
On July 6th, I achieved something I never thought possible: I confidently interviewed and addressed Global Fast Fit contestants in Likia. Standing in front of a large group, speaking clearly and with assurance, was a moment of triumph for me. The strength and confidence I'd built at Global Fast Fit had prepared me for this moment.
I believe I could handle anything life threw at me.😁

My name is Simon Muchiri from Kenya. I'm a Procurement and logistics manager by profession and an Automotive Engineer by passion. I'm currently working as a trainer and coordinator for GFF Team Kenya.
Some years back I used to work out once in a while with little or no achievements at all. I happened to meet John Groom during his visit to Kenya(little did I know my life would take a turn) through Dr. James. Can't lie, I thought it was just a regular visit. In December 2023, James told me there was a challenge he wanted me to attempt. 30 pushups, 30 leg lifts, 30 squats, and a 500 m run. "Are you kidding me?" I believed no way I could do all that at a go. I did it anyway with a time of 3.47 although I was not verified for poor form. I could barely walk for a week due to the intensity of the exercise. The second attempt came a week later recording an improved time of 3.44 which again was not verified. This compelled me to back on the drawing board. I went back to regular exercise full-time. On 15th April 2024, I submitted my 3rd attempt with a time of 3.38 which was finally verified. On May 7, I improved my time to 3.17. Three days later I did a sub 3 posting 2.59! Impressive, right? My target is to achieve a score of 2.30 by the end of the year, tough but achievable.
Being in the Global Fast Community is the best thing that happened to me.
