Turning 29 has been a time of reflection and renewal for me, and one of the most significant steps in this journey was a long-overdue visit to the dentist. My last dental experience dates back to 2008, when I was in class 7 and had a problematic tooth removed. Since then, I’ve had no reason to visit a dentist—until now. Let me take you through my recent experience, sponsored generously by Global Fast Fit.
Growing up as the youngest in my family, I was often treated to sugary snacks and treats—what we all thought of as a sign of affection. Unfortunately, this sweet-toothed indulgence came at a cost. By the time I was in class 7, I had already lost a couple of teeth, though luckily, they weren’t permanent. My dental health was far from ideal, leading to my 2006 visit for the removal of a troublesome tooth. Since then, life got busy, and a dentist visit slipped off my radar.
Fast forward to this year. I was give a once in a lifetime opportunity by John Groom to take control of my dental health. Thanks to the generous support of Global Fast Fit, I was able to get the comprehensive dental check-up and cleaning I needed.
Upon arrival at the dental office in Nakuru level 5 hospital, I was greeted with a warm and professional environment. Dr. Aswani, who attended to me, proved to be a fantastic choice. His calm demeanor and thorough approach made the entire process smooth and reassuring.
The visit involved a detailed check-up and a much-needed cleaning. Dr. Aswani took the time to explain the current state of my dental health, offering insightful advice on maintaining good oral hygiene. It was refreshing to experience such attentive care, especially given the long gap since my last visit.
This visit wouldn’t have been possible without the support of John Groom and Global Fast Fit. Their generosity not only made this appointment accessible but also reinforced the value of giving back to the community. I am genuinely grateful for their contribution, which played a crucial role in this positive experience.
Leaving the dentist’s office, I felt a renewed sense of confidence. My smile, which had been somewhat overshadowed by years of dental neglect, now felt bright and clean. It was more than just a physical transformation; it was a symbolic step towards taking better care of myself as I move forward into my thirties.
As I celebrate turning 29, I’m reminded of the importance of self-care and the impact of small changes in our daily lives. My recent dental visit was a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to take charge of our health.
A big thank you to John Groom for making this visit possible and to Dr. Aswani for his exceptional care, not forgetting Dr. James for being the link between all parties. Here’s to many more years of smiling confidently and taking care of ourselves, one step at a time.
